----The picture of this 30th anniversary edition of Chinaco "Emperador" is supplied courtesy of Germán González and Tequila Chinaco. Germán is one of the four sons of Tequila Chinaco's original founder, Sr., Guillermo González Diaz Lombardo (G.G.D.L.). These four sons of G.G.D.L. remain as partners in control of the company and Germán, who learned the trade directly from his father since the age of 16 is the current Master distiller for Chinaco. It is likely an understatement to say that Germán is very proud of this limited production tequila that was produced in honor of his father and the 30th anniversary of the inception of Tequila Chinaco.
----Upon getting my first look at a picture of 30th anniversary and commenting on these beautiful vessels containing this precious tequila I was contacted by Hernán D. Flores Buitrago, the distributor for Chinaco in Mexico City and a close friend of Germán González. Hernán had the following to say about Chinaco 30th Anniversary,

"... let me tell you that the case and bottle is absolutely nothing compared to what is inside. The tequila is just amazing. Out of this world... once you taste it, there will be nothing else like it."

----In July of 2003 Germán González chose Tommy's in San Francisco as the venue to debut his treasured Chinaco Emperador and Juan Mesa, who has become a close tequila amigo of mine, and many others in tequila circles, was invited to attend and taste the rare spirit. Shortly after, Juan passed along these comments:

.... "This is a 7 year Añejo inside a beautiful handmade bottle, then it comes in this handcrafted wood box.
----The presentation of the whole package is a Work Of Art. This very limited edition " All bottles and boxes are numbered" is going to be available in the U.S. I don't know exactly how many of these bottles are going to be allocated for the U.S.A. market but I will get a hold of the Chinaco Rep. and ask him to put your name on the waiting list for this bottle.
----I had the opportunity to taste this great tequila and it is SUPERB, the aroma, the AGAVE FLAVOR. This beautiful Chinaco Tequila gives a new meaning to the word Hand Made Tequila."
----"This very limited Chinaco 30th Anniversary is the ultimate expression of the Gonzalez family, it is aged for seven years producing a tequila that could be placed on a par with the finest liquors in the world.
----For its age, flavor, color and bouquet, this tequila is considered to be a treasure for collectors and connoisseurs."

Chinaco 30th Anniversary "Emperador" was produced in very limited quantities but some numbers made it to distribution in the United States. The suggested retail price was $400. Hi-Time Wine Cellars had it priced for $299.98. Those limited quantities were no joke and this tequila is now very difficult, if not impossible to find.
