This is a very enjoyable tequila in it's own right and should please any añejo drinker. It should be praised and admired by all tequila fans, if not just for it's quality but because El Tesoro has absolutely the most traditional production methods in the industry. Add this to the fact that it was among the first premium 100% agave products to be imported to the States which helped lead the way for many great products to follow.
Though Robert Denton & Company, Ltd. for the moment continues to be listed as the importer on bottles of El Tesoro de Don Felipe and Chinaco Mr. Denton actually sold his interest in these products a few years back. Imports of both of these storied brands are now controlled by industry giant, Jim Beam Brands Worldwide which is a subsidiary of the even larger company of Fortune Brands, Inc. Update 07/2003: I'm told that the imminent change will take place and that our beloved El Tesoro is to sold in a new and dfferent bottle. I have yet to see it but I'm sure we all will soon enough. http://eltesorotequila.com/HTML/eltesoro.htm |
