I'm personally excited about these attractive presentations of Oro de Jalisco Tequila. The nicely done Oro de Jalisco web site states that Tequilera La Noria has 15 years of experience in growing agave and producing tequila. After years of producing tequila for others the Oro de Jalisco tequilas are apparently the passionate creation from the Family Landeros Alvarado of La Noria.
According to the Oro de Jalisco site this Añejo is said to be aged for 3 years in Oak and has then spent another 6 years stored in Stainless Steel tanks. I'm not privy to Tequilera La Noria's practices but it's important to remove tequila from oak casks at the right time to prevent too much influence from the wood. I would guess the substantial, additional time in Stainless Steel was most likely a result of waiting for other details and legalities involved with getting a new brand to the market. Whatever the reasons this process has created an extremely enjoyable tequila añejo. A dark, golden color with a good oaky aroma and taste. Medium body and quitee smooth.
