Thanks to American entertainers Bing Crosby and Phil Harris, Herradura has been in the US since the 1950's and Herradura had never (that is until a few years ago with El Jimador) made anything but 100% agave tequila. This Herradura Blanco is strong in alcohol to the nose and the pallet probably due to the fact that these round bottles are 92 proof. This high octane blanco is generally referred to as the "Mexican Bottling," but it's occasionally available in some U.S. markets. If you'd like it a bit smoother with a little less kick try the Herradura Blanco "Suave" or it's U.S. equivalent, "Silver" which are a little tamer at 80 proof. Both are represented on the next two pages.
