Luna Sueño is, to be sure a very enjoyable and drinkable tequila blanco. As labeled, the tequila is distilled 4 times. Before I go on let me point out that I'm not an expert when it come to various forms of distilling anything, including tequila so I will try to avoid going into that aspect too much with this review. However most people reading this will likely be aware that tequila is traditionally distilled twice. Through recent years some producers, in an effort to create an even smoother blanco have put their spirit through a third distillation. This added distillation normally comes at the cost of loosing some of the inherent agave character that we've come to appreciate in 100% agave tequila. Enter Luna Sueño and it's "Four Distillation Tequila" and I have to admit that, as a "tequila" guy my initial reaction to this idea was not entirely positive. However when tasting the tequila I found it to be quite pleasant and not without a surprising agave nose and flavor. In fact a little more so than a couple of popular Triple Distilled brands I compared it with in a blind tasting. So Luna Sueño is definitely a 100% agave tequila but add to that a prevailing smoothness along with a very classy and attractive presentation, I expect a lot of tequila drinkers will be drawn to this high-quality spirit. It is also made at one of my favorite factories so I highly recommend Luna Sueño to any that have the opportunity to try it.
