In 1998 I found some dusty bottles of Real Hacienda that had apparently been sitting on the shelf for a while. I had never seen them in the Denver area anywhere else. I made some efforts to contact Mina International (the importer at the time) to see if they were still importing this label. In the summer of 2000 Mina International informed me that my favorite Boulder Liquor store had put in a large order. Sure enough before long the three Real Hacienda tequilas showed up there and life was good. As I write today in March of 2001, all three varieties of Real Hacienda are gone. Actually The liquor store put them on sale as a closeout item which obviously means they had no plans of getting anymore.
In 2002 I noticed that Hi-Time Wine Cellars began selling all three varieties of Real Hacienda and it was now being imported by IPN. Great, while it lasted but they've been out of stock for some time now. IPN continues to list Real Hacienda so hopefully Real Hacienda will appear once again. I've also seen Real Hacienda in newer bottles recently in Mexico so maybe we'll see more of this tequila again in the future.
