The info below is from an old page written several years ago. It does look like Corralejo is back to making 100% agave tequila again. I've seen bottles of the 100 % Blanco and will update this page soon.
This is a good example of what is going on in the tequila industry and a reminder of what to look for when you're buying tequila. The truth is when I bought the bottle above I did so with the impression that it was 100% agave. Tequila Corralejo Reposado had been one of my favorites and I was anxious to try the spirit before it had been rested. I did a blind tasting of this blanco along with two others, Las Trancas Blanco and Nacional again with the full belief that they were all 100% agave. I would like to be able to tell you that my skills as a tequila taster are so refined that I immediately picked out the mixto but that is not exactly the case. When I read that Corralejo had stopped producing 100% agave tequila I took a closer look at my bottle of Corralejo Blanco. Sure enough there is no mention of it being "100% Agave". I did go back and take a look at the notes I took during the tasting and even though I didn't pick it out as a mixto I did make mention that it was an example of a tequila benefitting by being rested as I preferred Corralejo Reposado. Now I know the reposado I had been accustomed to did not come from this tequila. Corralejo does deserve credit for complying with the Tequila Regulation Council's procedures.
