Tequilas de la Doña is not restricted to the same regulations that apply to tequila as they use their own registered designation of Elixir De Agave. Though the company's Elixir de Agave spirits are produced with 100% Blue Agave they are not labeled as Tequila. This allows certain freedoms in production, aging and the final alcohol content. A very unique approach to producing and marketing their very high quality agave spirits. El Capricho - Reserva del Productor is an absolutely stunning example of one of Cava de la Doña's great presentations. The bottle is labeled as Reposado but apparently this spirit has been aged for 3 years. Evidence of the unique labeling guidelines for these elixirs. A good tequila friend of mine, Juan Mesa and Tequilas de la Doña gave a number of avid collectors the great opportunity to acquire these very limited edition (200) Italian crystal decanters with etched graphics and labeling.
