If you like coconut chances are you'll like Kalani. It's a wonderful liqueur made with pure cane syrup and extracts from hand harvested Yucatan coconuts. Kalani has a very distinctive flavor that is wonderful when sipped straight or on the rocks but my favorite way to drink it is with equal parts Kalani and Pineapple juice shaken with ice.
Preiss Imports lists Kalani under the name of D'Aristi which is a trade name of Grupo AAMSA (Grupo Agroindustrial y Alcoholero de México, SA. de CV.). This Yucatan company founded in 1935 makes a number of different liqueurs and spirits. Price Imports carries three of these Yucatan liqueurs from D'Aristi. Kalani, Xtabentun and La Mestiza Licor de Nance. I hope to have these other two liqueurs listed here soon. |
