This Tequila is the latest venture of Señor Javier Aceves. This name may sound familiar to some as Sr. Aceves has been a notable person in the tequila industry for many years and those who have read Bob Emmon's "The Book of Tequila" may recognize the name from there. Javier Aceves is the ex-founder of labels like 30-30, Jalisciense and El Amo Aceves from the early to mid 1990's when he was associated with Agroindustria Guadalajara (NOM 1068) and indeed met with Bob Emmons in those days. In fact Mr. Emmons mentions the "new" (at the time) 'El Amo Aceves' añejo that he acquired on a trip in 1996 and this bottle can be seen on the cover Bob's now legendary book. After leaving 30-30 Mr. Aceves, along with others like Sr. Eduardo Barba founded a new company and factory in the same Jalisco, Highlands village of Capilla de Guadalupe. This factory is the above mentioned Hacienda La Capilla where we've seen other brands like El Amo produced. Now we see where that name was derived from and it's no wonder to me now why I've truly enjoyed tequila produced at this factory. These gentlemen obviously have a great deal of knowledge and experience in the industry.

The bottles of 'Tequila 5 Años' pictured above are two presentations of what I believe is the same reposado. The reposado bottles are labeled as "Cordon Rojo" while the brands Añejo is labeled "Cordon Azul". There is also a green labeled '5 Años' Tequila Joven designated "Cordon Verde".
