Though available in Mexico for awhile this tequila is now being imported by Travesia out of California. Amate reposado has a rich golden color attributed to it's time in the wood and the tequila has certainly benefitted from this resting by being very smooth. Also appealing to me about this tequila is that it's 6 month resting period has not imparted any obvious or strong wood flavors and the great agave flavor prevalent in Amate Blanco is not lost in this rested version. I enjoyed sipping Amate Reposado and will savor what is left in the lovely cobalt blue bottle. Fortunately we now have a some reliable sources for Amate Tequila.
