Chamucos basically translates to "Boogie Man" in Spanish. So what we have here is some Boogie Man Tequila. The label appropriately has ghosts or spirits running amuck. I enjoyed this Reposado very much. It is very light in color, almost like some Blancos but obviously rested enough to make it very smooth with a satisfying agave flavor.
Chamucos was originally produced at Tequileña, S.A. de C.V. (NOM-1146). Those original bottles had a brown, glass escudo or medallion on the bottle. Now produced at Tequila Quiote, the bottles are still very similar but the escudo is a little different and made of clear glass. Tequila Chamucos has a nice website at:
