As far as I know El Conquistador is normally produced at Agroindustrias Guadalajara, however the smaller bottle in this photo is a 375 ml bottle from Mexico and was produced at Tequila El Viejito, NOM #1107, one of the largest producers of Tequila for other labels. This is not uncommon in the Tequila industry with importers ever increasing demands on distilleries to fill large orders. Many Tequilas, even of the premium variety may be produced at various distilleries which reminds us that just because a bottle has the same label the Tequila inside could obviously vary due to these factors. Just something to keep in mind when you read my or any other reviews. In addition, this label was originally imported by a company named Premium Imports, Ltd.. Just as I noticed supplies had all but diminished El Conquistador was picked up by Heaven Hill Distilleries in the USA and seems to be enjoying increased visibility in the market. El Conquistador Reposado is said to be rested for a minimum of seven months which is longer than average yet it is very light in color. Though I do not know the details of their production methods I assume this is accomplished by resting the Tequila in either large or older barrels. The Tequila is very smooth and the prolonged aging does not detract from the Tequilas agave character.
The El Conquistado link here and above takes you to a Mexico web site. I'm not sure who created it or how old it is: http://tequilaelconquistador.com.mx/
