This regal looking bottle of Tequila Ley .925 is the "export presentation" and intended for sale in the United States. I have the "Mexico Only" badge on this page because at the moment the label is not being exported. However I have been informed that the company is in the market for a new importer and expects to have the tequila in the USA soon. The name Ley .925 refers to the percentage of pure silver used to make the beautiful signature labels that adorn all of the great bottles produced by this company. 100% pure silver would be too soft to have a practical use in most applications and as a result other types of alloy are added to make items like jewelry. In order to be what we call "sterling" there must be at least 92.5% of pure silver which is often designated with a stamp of ".925". As a comparison the old Mexican Pesos were made with .720 silver.
For more information about the tequila check out the Ley .925 website at: http://www.ley925.com/
If the site is not currently up check back soon as it's expected to be on-line shortly (February 2004). If you're an importer interested in representing Tequila Ley .925 and the site is not on-line yet please contact me. I'll be more than happy to put you in touch with them.
