Los Valientes was always one of my favorite products when I could find it. It has a sweetness to the nose as well as in the mouth. A little darker in color than your average reposado and though it lacks a lot of agave flavor the presence of the wood is slight to non-existent considering the dark amber hue. These subtle but pleasant qualities, along with being very smooth is what I appreciated about Los Valientes. Not to mention that when it was still around I could get a 1 liter bottle for around twenty bucks which even about five years ago was one of the better bargains in the market.
If you happen to run across any bottles of this reposado I would certainly try and grab some. In 2001 I was able to communicate with the Parliament Import Company who was the sole U.S. importer of Los Valientes and they informed me that they were no longer importing Los Valientes and hadn't been for four or five years.
